Ballistic shield maker sanctioned in former Belleville officer's trial

Safariland attorneys argued that attorney mistakes shouldn't sentence the client, Safariland. The lawsuit was brought by a former Belleville police sergeant blinded after being slug in the face by a homicide suspect. Jon Brough sued Safariland, alleging the companions improperly marketed the shield for use in dynamic entries. Brough's attorney, Thomas Keefe, argued he couldn't enlarge on a lawsuit because he didn't have documents or documents were provided too late.

Army Didn't Properly Test Plates for Body Armor, Audit Finds

They found that the testers did not regularly use the correct-size plates, that they did not use a consistent methodology for measuring the velocity of test rounds and that they did not always proof at the required altitude and weather conditions. An audit by the Pentagon’s inspector public has found that the Army did a poor job of testing the ballistic plates used in body guard and therefore cannot be certain that the equipment is adequately protecting soldiers. “We strong-minded that ballistic testing and quality assurance for Interceptor Body Armor inserts did not have correct controls to ensure that the ballistic inserts met contract requirements,” the story concluded.
